Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum) has a fresh, earthy, herbaceous scent that lifts the spirits. Helichrysum flowers are commonly called Everlasting or Immortelle. While the reference to "long life" made by these names may have come about because the flowers dry without losing their color and beauty, it could just as well refer to the amazing properties of the oil, which has a wide range of applications. Helichrysum has been studied in Europe and may promote tissue regeneration. It supports healthy skin, nerves and circulation** and scores 17,430 on the antioxidant ORAC* scale.
How to use: Diffuse. Apply topically around outside of ear, temples, forehead, back of the neck, or on location.
*A new laboratory test known as ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) was developed by USDA researchers at Tufts University to rate the antioxidant levels of fruits and vegetables. Essential oils have also been found through ORAC testing to have very powerful antioxidant properties.
